  • Advanced Drug Delivery Systems

    Over the past three decades, new techniques have been encouraged for the development of novel carriers for drug delivery. In that Advanced Drug Delivery Systems (DDS) present undoubtable benefits for drug administration. Our human body may be accomplished by several anatomic routes for the introduction of drugs. To reach the therapeutic purpose, the choice of the most suitable route of administration is of indubitable importance. The drugs can be introduced directly to the target tissue or organ or can be delivered by systemic routes. The main precedence of advanced drug delivery systems over traditional systems is the ability to deliver a drug more selectively to a specific site, easier, more accurate, absorption that is more consistent with the site and mechanism of action, decreased variability in systemic drug concentrations and reductions in toxic metabolites.

  • Pharmacovigilance and Drug Safety

    Drug Safety & Pharmacovigilance are receiving more attention than any these days and One is taking care of compliance and reporting, and the other is focused on interpreting signals. Pharmacovigilance is defined as the science and activities relating to the detection, assessment, understanding and prevention of adverse effects or any other medicine/vaccine related problem. Before they are authorized for use, all medicines and vaccines undergo rigorous testing for safety and efficacy through clinical trials. WHO has been encourage fair and equitable access to appropriate, safe and efficacious new COVID-19 vaccines for all countries through its prequalification (PQ) programme and Emergency Use Listing (EUL).

  • Bio-Drugs, Bio-Molecules and Therapeutics

    Bio-Drugs are referred to as an essential capital for R&D professionals and clinicians with an interest in biologic therapies which covers the development and therapeutic application of biotechnology-based pharmaceuticals and diagnostic products for the treatment of human disease. Biological drugs include antibodies, interleukins, and vaccines. Also called biologic agent and biological agent. These are a special type of powerful drug that slows or stops damaging inflammation.  The therapeutic attack of a biologic is always a gene or a protein.  Biomolecules & Therapeutics is assigned to experimental therapeutics, especially focused on the discovery of innovative drug targets and novel pharmacophores. Small molecules are used to treat a various type of diseases and conditions, can be quite diverse in their mechanisms of action and are effective enzyme inhibitors and allosteric modifiers and can target extracellular proteins or intracellular receptors in the cytosol, nuclei, and central nervous system, because of their small size and typical physiochemical properties. In inclusion to therapeutic proteins like peptides and antibodies, biologics also include Nucleic acid-based therapies (e.g., RNAi, gene therapy, gene editing), Blood components and Cellular and tissue therapies (e.g., CAR T cell therapy, allogeneic transplants).

  • Pharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics

    Pharmaceutics is defined as the science that deals with the design and development of pharmaceutical dosage forms. Drug delivery science and technology importance is on topical, sustained-release injectables, inhalable dosage forms and novel drug delivery systems. It involves the development of various types of nanocarriers composed of biocompatible and biodegradable polymers and lipids for the targeted delivery of a variety of therapeutic agents.  Drug discovery and development are the two major steps in the development of new therapeutic drug substance and they require close interaction among the different scientific discipline members for as many as 10–12 years. Pharmacokinetics mentioned as the study of the time course of a drug within the body i.e extent and duration of systemic exposure to the drug, and also incorporates the process regarding the drug’s absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME) pattern. In common, pharmacokinetic parameters are derived from the measurement of drug concentrations in blood or plasma. These are pharmaceutical disciplines useful to improve the outcome of drug therapies, assist drug product development, and establish pharmacokinetics-pharmacodynamics models and in vitro-in vivo correlations.

  • Nutraceutical Drug Discovery and Therapy

    Nutraceuticals is the application of stout pharmaceutical science at all the stages of the product life-cycle, such as use of innovative approaches in product design and development, evaluation of the safety and efficacy through clinical research.  Novel Drug Delivery Systems or NDDS have great scope of application to the nutraceutical products and are more palatable, enhancing the convenience of administration, and improving the efficacy through faster and higher absorption and enhanced therapeutic effect. Nutraceuticals are right option to chemical or synthetic medicines as these avoid side effects, have natural origin and are part of dietary supplements. Nutraceuticals are well-used as the bioactive substances and the constituents are either of known therapeutic activity or are chemically defined substance generally accepted to contribute substantially to the therapeutic activity of the drug. The significance of nutraceuticals is enriching globally in terms of scientific services, legal aspects, and marketing strategies for health promotion, reduction of disease, and health care costs and are generally secure and helps to maintain good health conditions.
