Dr. Budong Qian received his BSc in climatology from Nanjing Institute of Meteorology in 1982, MSc from Hohai University in 1990 and PhD from the University of Lisbon in 2000. He is currently a Research Scientist at the Ottawa Research and Development Centre, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, leading studies on sustainable crop production in Canada under climate change. Dr. Qian uses crop growth models to assess climate change impacts on crop production and evaluate potential agronomic adaptation strategies to future climate change in Canada. He is interested in studies on climate variability, climate change and their impacts on agriculture and other aspects of the human society.
